Feng Shui:

Literally translated from the Chinese language, Feng Shui means 'wind water.' Wind is representative of that which we cannot see and water of that which we cannot grasp. It is this aspect of our lives, the unseen forces, that feng shui can help to harmonize.

According to ancient Chinese belief (and current physics laws), all things living and nonliving are composed of energy. This energy is called 'chi', which translates into 'breath'. And just as breath is the essence of our lives, good chi is just as essential. Chi is the lifeforce of all matter. Through proper placement of feng shui enhancers, one can create an environment of balanced and harmonious chi, which in turn creates a happier, healthier, wealthier, better life for you.

History of Bells in Energy Balancing:
For centuries, folklore has held that bells have the power to banish evil and invite good fortune. In the Middle Ages, doctors suggested ringing bells to clear the air of disease. Church bells were deemed so important to ward off evil that the bells were baptized, named for saints and even said to ring on their own.

Today, with increased interest in feng shui, more people are using bells in their homes and offices. According to feng shui, chimes and bells don’t just ward off evil, they actually call in positive energy; the ringing sound created by a metal bell enhances the flow of positive chi while dispersing malignant, negative energy from the area. Feng shui holds that hanging bells in the entryway of your house opens you to new opportunities. And, bells hung throughout can circulate and enhance the energy within your living area.

Feng Shui Crystals:
Feng Shui practitioners use crystals and prisms to energize a dead space with light and Chi energy. Various colors of crystals will impart different auras of chi to your home, office, and yard.

The color chart to the left is a simplified illustration of a bagua (pronounced Ba-gwa). Click on it to obtain a larger picture. It is used in feng shui to find out which part of your home, office, or yard correlates with a particular situation in your life. Once you understand how to use this 'map of feng shui', you will be able to quickly evaluate and adjust your environment to maximize greater health and productivity while improving your quality of life.

In the bagua diagram above, there are eight areas, (guas) encircling the center. These nine different zones correspond to nine major areas of life. Each area is also associated with a specific color. When looking to improve or alter various concerns that arise in your life, adjusting the energy in the corresponding area subdues negative energy and/or enhances beneficial energy already present in these locations. You may make this type of adjustment, or cure, by adding the appropriate color to the area of concern.

In America, the bagua does not follow the compass or true directional space. The entrance of a home and business or garden is called the mouth of ch’i (ch’i meaning energy). It is always north on the bagua. So to use the bagua to determine the areas of influence in your living space, start with the entrance as north as you face the back (south), with east to your left and west to your right.
